What Is VOLBELLA?

VOLBELLA is the first FDA approved lip augmentation filler to address fine lines in your lips, and the delicate skin around your mouth.

VOLBELLA is made from hyaluronic acid (HA), a naturally occurring sugar found in your body which helps maintain volume and elasticity in the skin, and is used in dermal filler procedures to help improve the skin’s volume and texture.

This is one of the newest fillers added to the JUVÉDERM family that combines different weights of hyaluronic acid. It also has a small amount of lidocaine, a common numbing agent, to make the procedure nearly painless.

Am I A Good Candidate For VOLBELLA?

VOLBELLA is intended for adults ages 21 and over, and was designed to provide natural-looking volume to the lips, and smooth the appearance of vertical lip lines, leaving your pout with a modest plump without appearing overdone. If you are frustrated with stubborn wrinkles around your lips (these are also known as perioral lines or lipstick lines), or if you’re just not happy with the appearance or feel of your lips, VOLBELLA might be a great choice for you.

However, if you suffer from severe allergies, including a history of anaphylaxis, or are allergic to lidocaine or gram-positive bacterial proteins, you should not receive VOLBELLA treatments.

How Long Do the Results Last From VOLBELLA?

Results vary for each patient, but typically VOLBELLA fillers last nine months to a year after receiving injections.

What Should I Expect During VOLBELLA Treatment?

A Dermatology Clinic of Idaho Provider will first have an in-depth consultation with you to understand your concerns and determine the best treatment plan for your specific needs.

During preparation, we will begin by cleaning and preparing your targeted area. VOLBELLA injections can typically be completed in a 30- to 60-minute office procedure. The needle used to perform the VOLBELLA injections is very fine for minimal discomfort. Typically, patients report experiencing a small “pinch-like feeling” during the procedure. 

After your treatment, you will be provided with post-care instructions and should be able to resume your normal activities immediately.

Are There Any Side Effects With VOLBELLA?

The most common side effects with VOLBELLA injections are swelling, bruising, tenderness, redness, pain, and the possibility of discomfort and itching. These are all temporary responses that generally only last a few days.

Is There Any Downtime With VOLBELLA?

Recovery time is minimal, allowing you to return to your normal daily activities after the procedure. However, we do not recommend intense exercise or sun exposure within the first 24 hours after treatment. Aftercare is also very simple and your Provider will go over everything with you during your consultation.
