Michael (Mike) Housley, PA-C is a talented member of our Dermatology Clinic of Idaho team that we are excited to introduce you to… that is, if you haven’t already met him at our Boise location.
He became a Physician Assistant because of his interest in medicine and a desire to help others. Mike brings a combination of dermatology expertise and great patient care – having studied first at Brigham Young University, then at Midwestern University, and also working as an EMT.
Mike grew up in the Treasure Valley and is happy to be living here again along with his wife and three children. Together, they enjoy participating in sports, exploring the natural wonders of Idaho and the occasional evening at home for a family movie night. Mike met his wife at BYU when they were both on the ballroom dance team, so it’s no surprise to find his family having a spontaneous dance party in the kitchen.
Skin Cancer Awareness Tips
He has three skin cancer awareness tips he recommends to patients:
- Beware of any new or changing skin lesions. An annual skin exam can help your skin care provider keep up with any skin changes that may need attention.
- Be on the lookout for any “sore” that won’t heal.
- Apply 30 SPF (or higher) sunscreen whenever you go outdoors. Learn more about skin care products and sunscreens here.
