Microneedling is suitable for all skin types and tones. The process of microneedling is performed with tools such as the SkinPen by Bellus Medical or other devices like a “derma roller.” These tools have tiny needles attached that are used to make many tiny little holes or pricks in the top layers of the skin. These tiny holes from the needles create “micro channels” that allow medicated skin care products to penetrate and absorb into the deeper layers of the skin, which kicks the skin into healing mode and stimulates collagen and elastin production.Â

Recovery time is minimal, but it is best to allow yourself time to heal. Patients are normally able to resume back to normal activities the next day.
You may experience mild redness, bruising, and/or swelling at the injection site/s. Swelling usually resolves in 24-48 hours, and bruising can last up to two weeks for some patients.
Results vary per patient, but you will notice improvement with a single procedure.
